The Old Way
Oil on Masonite 18" x 18:
Not too many years ago getting a young horse saddle broke and gentle was a rough and tumble situation. This painting is a very accurate renditon of what might have been the horse's first saddling. When the horse accepts the fact that the saddle can't be thrown, then the more gentle training can begin. Today much gentler means are used in getting a horse ready to be servicable and gentle. Yet memories of days gone by still linger with us.
This painting is especially appreciated by horse lovers from every genera of horsemanship.
